Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs
Most offices, facilities, and parks have resumed normal hours and operations.

The Leita Thompson Dog Park and the multi-sport field 2 in Roswell Area Park are both currently closed due to storm damage. Please continue to monitor this page and social media for the latest updates.

All park visitors are advised to please use caution when entering our park facilities. Our maintenance crews and contractors will continue to work to clear trees and debris. Please report all hazardous conditions to the Department by using the City of Roswell app.

Garbage, Recycling and Yard Waste
In response to the increased demand for yard waste collection due to the recent storm, the City is working to add trucks to the yard waste routes and asks residents for cooperation with the following:
  1. Please ensure all yard waste meets the guidelines for collection.
  2. 2 cubic yards of waste will be collected each pickup.
  3. Yard waste can remain at the curb until fully collected. No enforcement actions will be taken in an effort to allow the collection of excess storm debris to catch up with demand.
  4. Requests for extra collections will be delayed during this response process.
The City asks that you remain patient during the storm clean-up and allow time for all affected residents to receive service.

Roads Closed/Signals Out
As of Monday morning, November 2, 2020, City crews are reporting that all traffic signals are working, and all roads are passable.

Crew have been continually checking roads all day and will stay on-call to respond to any situations that arise.

If you are aware of signals out or roads still blocked, please call the Police non-emergency line at 770-640-4160. (In an emergency situation, please call 911.)

Please continue to drive with awareness and patience. Although signals are working, Zeta's strong winds may have turned some detection equipment, moving it out of correct alignment/focus. As a result, there's a possibility of longer wait times at some intersections. We are trying to address these issues as they filter in, and we will correct them as soon as possible.

Also please be aware that crews will be continuing to pick up debris on sidewalks and on the sides of roads over the next several weeks. This process will take some time. Your continued patience is greatly appreciated.

Power Outages
With many residents and businesses still without power, we wanted to make sure you have the links to check outage status and make reports with your utility provider:
  • Georgia Power:
  • Sawnee Electric:
  • Cobb EMC:
The City is coordinating with utility providers also to restore power to some traffic signals and to address remaining downed wires.

It will take some time for the utilities to restore everything. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding!
